This research aims to study the use of reading fluency and comprehension methodologic strategies with students from the II Cycle of school El Hogar, Youth and Adult Education in the first semester of 2021 on the city of Bluefields, RACCS. Interviews with the Delegate of MINED, principal of the school and a teacher were carried out. Then, periodic reading evaluations took place to identify students’ difficulties in reading. Moreover, parents and tutors collaborated on an assessment. Findings show teachers must apply didactic strategies for students’ meaningful learning as they had weaknesses in reading. It is noteworthy that some parents and tutors couldn’t read or write and weren’t interested in the education of the school.
